I watch Alien and think it is just so moody and atmospheric that it is definitely better; then I watch Aliens and is equally brilliant. I recently watched all the extras that I have for Alien and Aliens and was blown away by how much of the effects were done in-camera. Ridley Scott and Jim Cameron really know how to make films!filmrrusshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08242906606942840491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3801517398375131221.post-37052424580423745332012-06-01T09:58:02.007+01:002012-06-01T09:58:02.007+01:00Always time for an Alien rewatch. I recently watched Real Steel, and was very impressed that a lot of the giant robots were actually built. Practical stuff always has more of an impact on screen, and gives the actors something to react to!filmrrusshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08242906606942840491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3801517398375131221.post-28197506376015260092012-05-30T02:24:20.874+01:002012-05-30T02:24:20.874+01:00Alien is a timeless classic and I love it, but I&#...Alien is a timeless classic and I love it, but I'm also one of those people who prefer Cameron's action-packed Aliens over this one. Clearly that means I need a rewatch.

It's such a shame these days that the majority of big budget films rely so heavily on CG. Back when this film was made the fact that the sets were all made just gave the film more of a feel.Jainahttp://time-wellspent.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3801517398375131221.post-17489848088289873712012-05-26T10:58:13.090+01:002012-05-26T10:58:13.090+01:00Cheers Tom. I think I enjoy Alien 3 more every time I see it. I'll have to go and find out what you thought of the third film. Seriously can't wait for Prometheus.filmrrusshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08242906606942840491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3801517398375131221.post-61247941419470306812012-05-25T17:11:32.598+01:002012-05-25T17:11:32.598+01:00Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father?!! I also picked up on the 'J.J. Abrams' lens flare. I've just got the 4th one to watch now and I'm up to date and ready for Prometheus.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11186833811296327739noreply@blogger.com
